Dagu Tanggu, once known as
Tanggu District, sits on the southern bank of the Hai River where it meets the
Bohai Sea, about 60 kilometers southeast of Tianjin. This coastal town boasts a
rich history, with Dagu Fort serving
as a crucial defense point against foreign invasions during the 16th century.
Today, the fort's ruins stand as a testament to China's resilience.
Visitors can explore the remnants of Dagu Fort, one of Tianjin's three treasures, and enjoy the serene coastal beauty
at the nearby Tianjin Seaside Resort.
The town also houses the Chaoyin Temple, a religious site with unique architecture. While not a major shopping
hub, Dagu Tanggu offers local markets and
