Umm Said, Mesaieed, Musay'id

Umm Sa’id, a unique city in Qatar, seamlessly blends industrial significance with coastal beauty. Situated 36 kilometers south of Doha, Umm Sa’id was established in 1949 as a pivotal tanker terminal by QatarEnergy. This city is a recognized industrial zone and a crucial tanking center for petroleum received from the Dukhan fields.  For over two decades, Umm Sa’id served as Qatar's sole deepwater port, handling oil exports and imports of essential equipment.

While industrial development is a major focus, Umm Sa’id also offers leisure activities. Explore the Al Wakra Camel Farm nearby, where you can experience camel rides, witness thrilling camel races, and delve into the fascinating world of camels at the Camel Museum.  The surrounding desert landscapes beckon exploration, offering opportunities for photography tours and soaking in the beauty of the natural surroundings.  For a touch of tradition, visit the local souq and discover a treasure trove of local goods, spices, herbs, clothing, and exquisite jewelry.

Similar to Jabal Az Zannah/Ruways, nightlife options are limited in Umm Sa’id due to its industrial focus.  However, the city's peaceful ambiance provides a welcome respite after a busy day.  While shopping centers might be scarce, Umm Sa’id offers a chance to sample camel milk and explore the delights of Middle Eastern cuisine.
