Porto Amboim

Porto Amboim, a port town in Angola's Cuanza Sul Province, boasts a rich history. Originally known as Kissonde, it was later colonized by the Portuguese and renamed Benguela Velha (Old Benguela). Today, the town covers an area of over 4,600 square kilometers and is a growing center for the offshore industry, particularly in pre-salt development.

History buffs can appreciate the Miradouro da Pedra do Cavalo, an observation deck offering stunning panoramic views. The Igreja Católica De Porto Amboim, a Catholic church, is another landmark worth exploring.  For a taste of local life, visit the bustling Mercado Municipal de Porto Amboim, a market where you can find fresh produce and unique handicrafts. While specific nightlife options might be limited, local restaurants and cafes offer an opportunity to experience the city's culture and social scene.
