Ordu

Ordu, the capital of Ordu Province, graces the eastern slopes of Boztepe hill on Turkey's Black Sea coast.  The city's name reflects its rich past.  Originally called Kotyora, meaning "a place where pottery is made" in the indigenous Colchian language, its contemporary name, Ordu, translates to "army camp" in Ottoman Turkish, referencing its proximity to an Ottoman military outpost.
