Pythagoreio, a beautiful coastal town on Samos' southwest coast, boasts a rich history and stunning scenery. Named after the famous philosopher Pythagoras, who was born on the island, Pythagoreio features a wealth of ancient ruins waiting to be explored. These include the town's once-protective ancient walls, the Polikratis Fortress ruins offering a glimpse into the past, Roman spas and houses showcasing remnants of ancient life, and the Eupalineio Aqueduct, an impressive feat of engineering from the 6th century BCE.
