Sant'Antioco

Sant'Antioco, both an island and a municipality in southwest Sardinia, is steeped in history dating back to prehistoric times. Once considered Sardinia's second most important city in ancient times, Sant'Antioco is the island's second largest after the mainland itself. Connected by a modern bridge, it's about 87 km from Cagliari, the capital city. Explore the island's past at over 30 Nuragic ruins and Domus de Janas, ancient burial chambers. Significant sites include the Grutti 'e Acqua Complex, S’Ega Marteddu Nuraghe, and Sa Cipudditta Nuraghe. Discover remnants of the Phoenician settlement, including the ancient harbor city of Sulki. Roman rule further enriched the area, making it one of Sardinia's wealthiest. For shopping, explore the Centro Commerciale Naturale Sulki, a network promoting open-air shopping and supporting local businesses. Enjoy the relaxed nightlife scene at Bar Colombo 48, Street Bar, or Bar Fontana Romana.
