Zeebrugge, also known as "Bruges-on-Sea," is a subdivision of Bruges and serves as its modern port. Strategically located on the Belgian coast, it is a crossroads for traffic from all directions. Zeebrugge is Belgium's most important fishing port, hosting one of Europe's largest wholesale fish markets. It functions as a passenger terminal with ferries to the United Kingdom and plays a central role in Europe’s automotive industry, handling energy products, agricultural goods, and general cargo. It also boasts the largest LNG terminal complex in Europe. Attractions include Seafront Zeebrugge, which explores maritime history and features a lightship, three buildings, and a beach, and the historical St. Donatian’s Cathedral. Zeebrugge's vibrant nightlife includes cozy pubs like The Jolly Joker, The Old Tree with its craft beers, The Irish Times offering an authentic Irish pub experience, and The Vagabond, a trendy bar with craft beers and an extensive cocktail menu.
