Pozos Colorados
Just a short drive from Simon Bolivar International
Airport lies Pozos Colorados, a sector renowned for its
pristine white sandy beaches. This area, part of the tourist-free zone of Santa
Marta, has witnessed a surge in hotel construction and resorts
catering to visitors seeking a relaxing Caribbean
escape. However, Pozos Colorados also boasts an industrial
side. It houses an oil terminal situated on the Caribbean coast, operated by Empresa
Colombiana de Petroleos (ECOPETROL). This terminal serves as a
discharge point for petroleum products into shore storage tanks. Despite this
industrial presence, the area remains a popular tourist destination, offering a
blend of natural beauty and modern conveniences.
