Vitaz Marine Terminal

Vitaz Marine Terminal, located 8.6 nautical miles northeast of Sakhalin Island in the Okhotsk Sea, is an industrial complex focused on oil production. During operational months (June to November), oil from the Piltun Astokhskoye field travels via a subsea pipeline to the ice-classed Floating Storage Offloading (FSO) facility named "Okha." This FSO sits in around 30 meters of water and connects to the pipeline through a Molikpaq SALM system. The entire Vityaz Production Complex, part of the broader Sakhalin II project, is owned by Sakhalin Energy Investment Co and operated by SBM Production Contractors. Due to harsh ice conditions, production halts from December to May each year.
