Karaikal Port
Karaikal Port, situated near the town of Karaikal in Puducherry,
is a modern deep-water port operational since 2009. This all-weather port
handles diverse cargo and boasts advanced infrastructure, including a
mechanized coal handling system, cranes, conveyors, and railway connections.
Its central location between Chennai and Tuticorin provides multimodal
connectivity.

not a major tourist destination itself, Karaikal Port offers access to nearby

the Karaikal Ammaiyar Temple, a Hindu temple dedicated to Punithavathi, also known as Karaikal Ammaiyar. The famous Velankanni Church is a 31 km journey from Karaikal.
