Jask
Bandar-e-Jask,
situated on the Gulf of Oman roughly 1,690 kilometers south of Tehran, boasts a
warm and dry climate influenced by its arid and semi-arid surroundings. The
town holds historical significance – it was once a center for the ancient Mitraism
cult, and the British East India Company established
a trading port here in 1619. Since 2008, it has also served as an important
base for the Iranian Navy.
