Jazireh-Ye Lavan Oil Terminal, Lavan Island
Jazireh-Ye
Lavan, or Lavan Island,
lies in the Persian Gulf off Iran's coast. Covering 78 square kilometers, the
island is a major hub for Iran's oil industry, with one of the four primary
terminals for crude oil export. The island sits atop the Lawan gas field,
containing significant gas reserves.
While
primarily an industrial center, Lavan Island offers opportunities to explore
its rugged coastline and natural beauty. The Lawan Lighthouse,
a prominent landmark, provides a glimpse into the island's maritime history.
Due
to its industrial focus, Lavan Island doesn't offer extensive shopping or
vibrant nightlife. However, visitors can enjoy the island's natural
surroundings and appreciate its unique industrial infrastructure.
