Mina Abd Allah, Mina Al Abdulla
Mina
Abd Allah, a small city nestled in a valley within
Makkah province, is situated about 8 kilometers east of Mecca. This city plays
a vital role during the annual Hajj pilgrimage. Nicknamed the "City
of Tents," it's known for the vast number of
air-conditioned tents that accommodate millions of pilgrims during their stay.
Mina
Abd Allah is primarily a pilgrimage site, and shopping options are limited.
Visitors often travel to nearby cities like Mecca for a more extensive shopping
experience.
The
most prominent feature of Mina Abd Allah is the Tented City. The entire valley
is covered with neatly arranged tents, providing temporary accommodation for
over 3 million pilgrims during Hajj. Located nearby is the Jamaraat
Bridge, a pedestrian bridge used by Muslims during the
stoning of the Devil ritual.
As
the focus in Mina Abd Allah is on religious rituals and spiritual experiences,
there's no nightlife scene.
