Wadi Feiran
Wadi Feiran, also known as Wadi Faran, is Sinai's largest wadi, stretching over 80
miles across the peninsula. One of the
alleged sites of the Biblical Rephidim, where Moses is said to have struck a rock for water, this wadi
holds historical significance.
The lush Feiran Oasis, nestled within the wadi, offers a glimpse
into early Christian communities.
Explore the ruins of a 5th-century monastery and experience the warm
hospitality of the Bedouin
people, who have called this
place home for centuries. Expect to be
welcomed with tea, coffee, and perhaps even a traditional meal.
For the adventurous soul, Mount Serbal presents a challenging yet rewarding
hike. This 6,560-foot peak was once
believed to be the real Mount Sinai. The six-hour trek to the summit along the Sikket Ar Reshshah track is rewarded with breathtaking panoramic
views.
While nightlife is nonexistent in Wadi Feiran,
the serene desert nights offer a magical experience under a blanket of stars.
