Forcados Oil Terminal
The Forcados Oil
Terminal, located off the mouth of the Forcados River in Delta State,
Nigeria, serves as a vital hub for the country's oil export industry. Connected
to the shore by a 22km submerged pipeline, the terminal features a Single Buoy
Mooring (SBM) for vessels to anchor approximately 3.2km southwest while
awaiting pilot assistance.
Beyond its
industrial significance, the Forcados region offers opportunities to explore
the source of the revered Ethiope River and visit historical sites like Jaekel
House and the African Timber and Plywood Company.
For shopping, local markets provide a variety of goods, including fresh
produce and handicrafts. Boutiques and general stores offer additional shopping
options. The town's nightlife centers around local beer parlors, with nearby
cities like Lagos providing more diverse options.
