Bristol
Bristol, a vibrant
city in Southwest England, thrums with life for its estimated
population of 472,500 residents, making it the most populous city in the
region. Nestled along the curvaceous River Avon, Bristol is bordered by the
rolling hills of Gloucestershire to the north and the luscious landscapes of Somerset to the south.
The city boasts a rich history, receiving a royal charter in 1155. It was once
divided between Gloucestershire and Somerset, and played a significant role in early voyages of exploration
to the New World. However, Bristol's past also includes a dark chapter involving the slave trade.
Today, the city strives to acknowledge its complex history while embracing a
bright future.
