Teesport
Teesport Docks, a massive
sea port located in North Yorkshire, England, is a crucial center of
industrial activity. Owned by PD Ports, Teesport is strategically situated near the North Sea and River Tees. It currently
ranks as the third largest port in the United Kingdom, handling a
staggering 56 million tonnes of cargo annually. The port is comprised of
several key facilities, including the Tees Dock Terminal, which manages the
majority of the port's bulk cargo. The Redcar Ore Terminal is a deep-sea
facility specializing in iron ore imports, while the Cleveland Potash bulk terminal
handles exports of potash and salt. The Steel Export Terminal deals with
steel slab exports and wood imports. The Teesport Container
Terminals consist of two computerized quays designed to handle large
volumes of containerized cargo. Additionally, the Roll-on/Roll-off (Ro-Ro)
terminal facilitates vehicle imports and exports. While Teesport itself is
industrial, the nearby town of Middlesbrough offers a variety of nightlife options for visitors seeking a
lively evening out.
