Kalundborg, Asnaes
Kalundborg, a Danish city with a
population of over 16,000 (as of January 2023), is the main town of the
municipality of the same name. Situated on the northwestern coast of Zealand
(Sjælland), it lies opposite Copenhagen, approximately 110 km
away. Kalundborg is renowned for its large broadcasting facility, the Kalundborg
Transmitter, and was once home to the largest coal-fired power station in Denmark (Asnæs
Power Station), which transitioned to biomass fuel in 2017.
