Heltermaa
Heltermaa, a village on the island of Hiiumaa, boasts a charming harbor that
connects the island to Rohuküla on the mainland. Established in 1620, Heltermaa was once part of the Suuremõisa Manor. The port's specific location
can be found at 58º 51’ 54’’ N, 23º 2’ 50’’ E, making it a convenient access
point for exploring the island.
Similar to Rohuküla, Heltermaa's port caters primarily to cargo movement. However, a hidden gem
awaits you - the Heltermaa Handicraft House. Here, you can discover and
purchase unique locally-made crafts, a perfect souvenir to commemorate your
visit to Hiiumaa.
While nightlife options in Heltermaa are scarce, you can savor a
delicious meal or refreshing drink at the Heltermaa Bar-Bistro. For a more upscale dining
experience, head to Kpt Malm, a local food restaurant housed within the historic Suuremõisa Castle.
